What’s the Subaru Outback Maintenance Schedule?

August 7th, 2023 by

Sticking to a Subaru Outback maintenance schedule keeps you on top of the regularly scheduled maintenance for your vehicle. At Serra Subaru Champaign, we know the importance of getting all recommended maintenance, so if you’ve got one of these milestones coming up, come in for full Subaru service.

First Milestones

The first service milestone for your Subaru Outback arrives at 6,000 miles. Fluid levels should be checked, including coolant fluid, power steering fluid, and clutch fluid on manual transmissions. Your oil filter and oil should be replaced, and your tires should be rotated and balanced.

Finally, our team will perform a complete inspection, checking tire wear, exterior lights, hoses and belts, and other essential systems. At the 12,000-mile appointment, you’ll receive the same maintenance from 6,000 miles, with additional attention to your air conditioning and brake systems.

Later Milestones

At each milestone, you will continue to receive the same maintenance recommended at 6,000 miles with a few additions for longer-term care.

The first major service appointment doesn’t arrive until you hit 30,000 miles. At this point, your brake fluid and air filter should be replaced, as well as clutch and transmission fluid for manual vehicles. In addition, our Subaru service team will perform a complete inspection of your cooling system, drive belt, and fuel system.

Continue your regular 6,000-mile checkups until you reach 60,000 miles, at which point you’ll need a comprehensive check-up that covers every part of your Subaru Outback.
