Should I Buy a Pre-Owned 2022 Subaru Forester or the Newest Model?

The Differences Between 2022 and 2023 Models

In some cases, the differences between two model years can be quite stark. Sometimes a vehicle gets a complete redesign or a variety of new features that really make it obvious which year’s model you should choose. 

This isn’t really the case with the Subaru Forester, because the 2022 and 2023 models are actually pretty much the same. You have the same selection of trim levels, including the rugged Wilderness model that was introduced for the 2022 model year.

You also get the same 2.5-liter engine with its output of 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. Both models also come equipped with plenty of EyeSight® safety features and driver assistance technologies, including Pre-Collision Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control. 

Which Model Should You Buy?

So the verdict here is that you really can’t go wrong with either model. The 2023 Subaru Forester is likely to cost you more money, but it’s going to be easier to find this new Subaru vehicle in multiple trim levels. Alternatively, you can custom order a 2023 model that comes equipped with all of the features that you need.

The 2022 Subaru Forester might cost you less money, but there aren’t that many used models on the market right now. It might be harder to find a particular trim level or the options that you want.
